In the immediate postwar period the scientific community in Britain was infused with a couple of notable  defections from the Eastern Block, one of those a Major General of the KGB came with some notable aircraft plans. These plans where passed on to Fairy Aviation which up-engined the design and secretly produced 25 copies of the aircraft renamed the Fairy Firestorm, and there it stopped for nearly 20 years. Until one fateful day when a hard pressed  RAF found itself with a need to "show the flag" over the territories of the New Commonwealth in Antarctica, the aircraft hastily repainted and upgraded where possible found themselves shipped south to the UK's main base in the continent. This venerable design found itself in service until the 1st of May 1966 flying along the territories border, providing logistic support when required and harassing US personnel and aircraft wherever they could be reached.
